Thanks to its proximity to Denver, the Mount Evans Highway is a very popular driving route, especially on the weekends. While this road is often heavily utilized, hikers can leave the crowds behind in favor of a quiet trail through the forests and alpine areas of the Mount Evans Wilderness. One of these backcountry routes is the 6.5-mile-long Resthouse Meadows Trail, which leads to an isolated park surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.
