Red Rock Picnic Area to Beaver Reservoir Trail
This is a less popular section of the Sourdough Trail for hiking but is more popular with intermediate mountain bikers, in spite of it being generally much rockier than going south. You break out of the thick tree cover from time to time for pleasing views but are sheltered from wind and sun most of the time.
