Red Dirt Pass
Beginning at the Slavonia trailhead, this hike takes you past the popular destination of Gold Creek Lake to access a beautiful mountain valley and a high pass beyond. The rewards of this 2-day trip include the historic remains of an old mine, some wonderful flower-filled meadows, and that top-of-the-world feeling that 11,400-foot Red Dirt Pass provides. Add to all this the opportunity to climb nearby Mount Zirkel and you have all the makings for a memorable overnight trip.
