Rainbow Gulch
The inky depths of Rampart Reservoir are clasped in the ancient rock and forest of Pikes Peak’s north slope. One of the most scenic lakes in Colorado’s foothills, the slender fingers of the reservoir sprawl into a number of stream-carved draws. Lovely Rainbow Gulch is one of these. The gulch trail slips gently down along the stream to the shores of the lake, where it joins the well-used trail system encircling the reservoir. In addition to superb hiking, the recreation area offers a plethora of outdoor fun, including great fishing and mountain biking.
