Pueblo Mountain Park Trail

Pueblo Mountain Park is a small haven residing right between the city of Pueblo and the Sangre de Cristo Range. Home to 611 acres of land in the Wet Mountains, the park offers more than 6 miles of trails exploring this wonderfully rich and diverse area. This hike takes us past a rushing creek, onto open hillocks covered with cacti, yucca, ponderosa, and juniper, and deep into moist valleys of fir trees and wildflowers. The trail also summits a high lookout atop a rocky overlook granting views of the nearby town of Beulah and out to the eastern plains of southern Colorado. The hike isn’t complete, however, without a stop at the Mountain Park Environmental Center near the entrance of the park. The MPEC’s friendly staff offer a number of educational activities, including guided interpretive hikes, school programs, summer nature camps, and a variety of nature workshops and lectures. Be sure to check it out!
