Petroglyph Point Loop Trail
Cortez, CO

Petroglyph Point Loop Trail
On this loop trail, children discover how prehistoric Native Americans fulfilled their needs for food, shelter, and clothing while living in the high desert canyons of the Southwest. The trail circles a canyon and mesa top occupied by Ancestral Puebloans from around A.D. 600 until early in the thirteenth century. The Petroglyph Point guidebook, available at the museum and ranger station, highlights the interesting plants and geology seen from the trail.
