Notch Mountain
Minturn, CO

Notch Mountain
Few, if any, of Colorado’s high mountain peaks are as fabled as Mount of the Holy Cross. Featuring an enormous cross formed by two intersecting crevasses that remain filled with snow for much of the year, this mystical mountain has attracted considerable interest for more than a century. While the 14,003-foot peak is a popular climb for many, the best place to actually view the cross is nearby 13,224-foot Notch Mountain, which rises to the east.
