North Lone Pine Trail to Mount Baldy Overlook
This lightly used trail passes through 20-foot-tall fir trees and 2foot-tall pines in a part of Roosevelt National Forest that has recovered from forest fires and logging. Its topography is similar to that of Beaver Meadows and Mt. Margaret, but it climbs higher and provides views of the high plains and canyons as they climb steeply into the stark terrain of southern Wyoming in the distance. The North Lone Pine Trailhead is well marked, but the trail is not and requires good route-finding skills to be navigated successfully.
