Mt. Cutler Trail
Given its ecological remoteness, North Cheyenne Canyon Park is astoundingly close to the hubbub of Colorado Springs. A short drive through the charming residential districts of the southwestern section of the city leads to a winding road that climbs up and west into a spectacular preserve of wilderness. From an exposed perch atop Mt. Cutler, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of dense forests, the North and South Cheyenne creek drainages, towering red rock formations and a vivid waterfall, as well as vistas of the city and the high plains to the east. The trail is a steady but easy climb, with a thrilling touch of exposure as you traverse the west- and south-facing shoulders of the mountain.
