Mount Yale Summit Trail
The drawn-out east ridge has good, easy scrambling. It’s a fine first ridge walk for those who have only done on-trail hiking. This slight variation on the Sawatch theme means you won’t be grinding up miles of talus. The east ridge is broad and gives the excitement of a narrow walkway without the dangerous exposure. Views from Yale are great, as it is smack in the middle of the Sawatch Range, standing apart from the other Collegiate Peaks.
