Mount Hope Summit Trail
The forest en route to Hope Pass is especially beautiful. Timberline dissipates slowly, with stray bunches of trees guiding you to Hope Pass. Scrambling on the ridge is mostly class 2+ with a few easy class 3 moves thrown in for fun. Daring scramblers can stay on the spine of the ridge and increase the number of class 3 moves. This summit has great views of La Plata Peak and Huron Peak; it is the highest place in which I’ve ever seen gardens of assorted wildflowers!
