Mill Creek Basin Trail
This is the next trailhead you come to on Bear Lake Road after Moraine Park. The park starts off as a magnificent high mountain meadow, ringed by ponderosa pines and aspens, with a pleasing view of the surrounding hills. It can also be used as a less busy alternate route to Cub Lake or to access Bierstadt or Bear lakes. The fairly gradual climb can be turned into an out-and-back trek of any length and offers a very nice view of Cub Lake from on high if you don’t want to go the entire 6.5 miles past the lake and to the Cub Lake Trailhead.
