Middle Fork and East Fork Trails
Alpine scenery unparalleled in the Uncompahgre. A well-maintained and relatively easy trail leads up the east side of the Middle Fork of the Cimarron River into a high meadow filled with dramatic mountain views and a wonderful variety of wildflowers. The descent into the East Fork of the Cimarron River involves cross-country hiking with little or no trail to follow, while the East Fork Trail makes for a pleasant final day back to your shuttle vehicle.
