Meyers Homestead Trail
To have homesteaded in this rugged high-country valley would have taken more energy and dedication than most hikers traveling the Meyers Homestead Trail today could ever muster. But the broad, green meadows, thick aspen glens, and the clear waters of South Boulder Creek and its tributaries evoke the same passion for the wilderness those hardy pioneers must have felt. This is a wide, gently ascending trail that is shared by hikers, horseback riders, and mountain bikers. At trail’s end, a soft blanket of grass and wildflowers spreads up to a rocky saddle. Vistas of the white peaks of the Continental Divide stretching west from this outcrop will make you wish you could live here too.
