Mesa Trail South End
This is a hike for wanderers—people and their dogs who do not necessarily want a destination. Bracketed by the ridge of mountains on the west and civilization on the east, Mesa Trail offers all sorts of detours and loops without the risk of getting lost. It has meadows, shrubbery, a couple of creeks, and a few springs that create boggy ground—features your dog will enjoy exploring. The full trail is 6.1 miles, but 4.7 miles allows for plenty of diversions and stops short of the very beautiful but crowded Chautauqua Park.
