Marble Mountain Trail
A gentle trail to Marble Caves and Marble Mountain. When exploring the caves, take great care, go with an experienced guide, or turn back after the first couple hundred feet because there are obstacles beyond the entrance that require technical skills and equipment. Parts of South Colony Road barely deserve to be classified as a road. Early in the season, runoff seems to use the road as much as the creek, and the snowpack can linger below the trailhead into June. Be prepared to stop and proceed on foot in spring or fall when the road conditions will require it.
