Lower Cataract Loop Trail
Cataract Falls, visible from the trailhead, lures hikers around a mountain-fed lake and through sun-drenched meadows to pass into the cool, dark corridors of an old-growth forest. The lake’s beautiful serenity, especially in the morning, sets the tone for quiet discoveries in the brooks, brush, and shore along the trail. Weekday use of this popular walk is recommended. Camping and bicycles are not permitted within 0.25 mile of the lake or along the trail.
