Lost Lakes - Devils Causeway
With 167 miles of trails, the Flat Tops Wilderness is quite conducive to long-distance hiking excursions. One particularly nice trip that accesses some of the most memorable topographical features of the area heads north from the Stillwater Reservoir to Lost Lakes. It then climbs west to pick up a high route that continues south toward the trailhead. Within the last few miles, the hike crosses one of the most dramatic and unusual landmarks in the northern mountains of Colorado—the Devils Causeway. This 3-foot-wide, 1,500-foot-high gangplank is a real thrill to traverse.
