Historic Ashcroft Boardwalk
A visit to the boardwalk and trail at the Ashcroft Townsite more than qualifies as one of the best easy sojourns in the Aspen area. Set in a spectacular alpine valley, the trail wanders through colorful meadows and alongside playful Castle Creek, leading from historic building to interpretive sign and back to historic building. So easy some might argue it is more a stroll than a hike, its setting and history conspire to make the Ashcroft loop worthwhile.
