High Line Canal Trail: Horseshoe Preserve
Since the round-trip distance on this hike is almost 6 miles, this excursion qualifies as a bona fide hike even though it is in suburbia and passes through some very expensive subdivisions. The good-sized parking lot came with the development of a subdivision called The Preserve. When the parking lot was installed, Colorado Boulevard was realigned to intercept Orchard Road a block farther east. This change is still not recorded on most maps.
