Fort Collins: Poudre River Trail
The Poudre River Trail began as a joint venture between the City of Fort Collins, the City of Greeley, and the town of Windsor. The trail extends 19 miles one-way from Greeley to Fort Collins along the beautiful Cache La Poudre River, named by early French trappers, and meaning “the hiding place of powder.” The Poudre River Trail offers an exciting recreational opportunity for walkers, hikers, joggers, bikers, and in-line skaters. Educational, historical, and wildlife hot spots are plentiful along this dynamic urban trail, which alternates between concrete surfaces and soft dirt.
