Fools Peak Summit Trail
Fulford, CO

Fools Peak Summit Trail
I could rave on and on about the beauty of the lakes below Fools; only the Lion Lakes at Mount Alice rival them for pure splendor. Even though this is a very feasible dayhike, I highly recommend camping. Not only does an overnight give you an early jump on the mountain, it gives you glorious views of the deep, dark night sky. On clear evenings, stars sparkle in the black canopy, often smeared with the faint glow of the Milky Way. The pure ambiance is complemented by a great class 3 gully that scrambles up watery cliffs and steep boulders. A final gully deposits you Fools’ southwest ridge, a short sections that features some of the best class 3 scrambling around. A rocky descent lets you loop back down to the lakes.
