Flattop Mountain
Most visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park reach timberline by way of the paved Trail Ridge Road. A good alternative for hikers interested in visiting the higher, treeless reaches of the park is the 4.4-mile Flattop Mountain Trail. Climbing steadily most of the way, this popular route accesses some incredible views and pristine alpine tundra.
