Electric Pass
Accessing the summits of the Maroon Bells, Snowmass Mountain, and other lofty peaks in the Elk Mountains would be the subject of another book entirely, but it is possible to hike established trails to a variety of vantage points that put you on virtually the same level as nearby 13,000- and 14,000-foot summits. One such vantage point is 13,500-foot Electric Pass, considered Colorado’s highest trail-accessible pass.
