Eldorado Canyon Trail
See the panorama of 1.7 billion years of geologic history that has become some of the most renowned rock climbing terrain in North America, with countless climbers dangling from vertical cliffs on hundreds of challenging routes—all in the first mile you travel through the park on the trail. The state park is a fee area but is worth the price of admission. One of the best Front Range trails for scenery in one of the most accessible areas takes hikers along the top of a spectacular canyon with views of the Indian Peaks and the occasional Amtrak or coal train chugging along on the Moffat Road high above. Soak in the Eldorado Springs pool after your adventure. A hike of any length is rewarding. Allow most of a day for the 9-mile round-trip.
