Eldorado Canyon Trail
This relatively strenuous hike is broken up by some of the most interesting scenery in the Boulder area. There is the commonplace-flowers, trees, vistas- but it is the spider people clinging to the impossibly steep rock overhanging South Boulder Creek that make the hike remarkable and different. Eldorado Canyon is world famous for its rock climbing, and the multitude of climbers on the steep red rocks attest to its popularity. It's mind boggling, yet somehow familiar distraction for a hiker, who may not have the nerve to ascend such monoliths but can understand the appeal of the challenge. Oh yes, the trail also features beautiful wildflowers, majestic pines and views west of the Continental Divide.
