El Paso Creek and East Fork Trails
Cross a divide among the highest peaks in the Uncompahgre. This hike is an uncrowded and scenic way to cross the Uncompahgre Wilderness from south to north. Because it starts at the relatively high elevation of 11,200 feet, there is only a moderate amount of uphill hiking involved in reaching the high point of the hike. Views of Uncompahgre, Wetterhorn, and Matterhorn Peaks, Silver Mountain, Sheep Mountain, and the needles of volcanic rock separating the East and Middle Forks of the Cimarron River will keep you entertained as you traverse the Uncompahgre high country
