Edna Mae Bennet Nature Trail
The interface between the urban expanse of Colorado Springs and the wilderness of the foothills below Pikes Peak is abrupt, and is illustrated with startling clarity from the rimrock apex of the Edna Mae Bennet Nature Trail. The trail is relatively rustic. It meanders through the drab scrub of a seasonal streambed before climbing to the edge of the pine-studded yellow sandstone canyon. The rocks of the canyon walls have been puckered and scoured by rainfall and snowmelt, but offer wonderful opportunities for you and your children to do some low-key clambering and for all to rest upon while enjoying the views.
