East Shore Trailhead: Shadow Mountain Lake and Ranger Meadows Balloon
This will be a favorite trail. If not for the beauty of the forested landscape along the lake or the tall grasses and wildflowers of Ranger Meadows, you will be most impressed by the lack of other hikers and the pristine paths. The trail crosses the boundary between Rocky Mountain National Park and the National Forest Service; a difference between the two is not significant.
