East Marvine Trail
The hike description takes you to the top of the White River Plateau in the Flat Tops Wilderness. From here, choose your own destination for a multi-day backpacking trip. The public resource and wilderness preservation history in this area is significant. Part of the hike travels through dense spruce-fir forest conveying a primeval feeling. Once on the plateau, the land rolls along in subalpine meadows and alpine tundra punctuated by clumps of trees and short peaks. Small lakes and ponds abound up here. Take time to climb Big Marvine Peak or explore the various lakes on your own. Camping is available below the plateau and on top.
