Creekside Loop
This route is a fisherman's dream or a mother's nightmare. Ideal for the visitor with limited time, this short loops sticks close to vigorous Bear Creek for the most part, breaking out briefly to wander along the edge of a broad meadow. Much of the path, however, meanders in the shade of the willow, box elder and cottonwood of the riparian zone, where birds, small rodents and reptiles abound. It's a wonderland of discovery for a small child-though bringing a curious youngster along can add hours to the duration of the hike. For the fisherman...well, access to the trout in the creek comes at many points. Pick your hole and your degree of solitude- if you can find either on a sunny summer's day.
