Copeland Falls and Calypso Cascades
A pair of waterfalls along the North Fork of the Saint Vrain River are the goals of this moderately difficult hike. The two sets of falls have decidedly different atmospheres. Copeland Falls, which spill into a series of basins not far from the trailhead, offer ample opportunities for visitors to pull up a piece of sunbaked stone and contemplate the mesmerizing rush of water. The Calypso Cascades, on the other hand, tumble haphazardly through jumbles of ragged rock and deadfall left by a fire than ravaged the area in 1978. These falls, shaded by a thick evergreen canopy, are spanned by foot bridges that offer good views of the waterways.
