Colorado Trail
Follow a segment of the famous Colorado Trail, one of the best known long-distance trails in the country. The Colorado Trail winds its way for 468 miles from Denver to Durango through the heart of the Colorado Rockies, crossing eight mountain ranges en route. It is one of the most popular long-distance trails in the country — its success most remarkable for the fact that it was built entirely by volunteers. This hike follows Segment 6 (there are 28 segments in all), and is usually snow-free well into November. Return to do this hike in September for South Park’s colorful aspen display.
