Bruin Bluff
In autumn, the cottonwoods, willows and box elders that line the trail through this creekside park erupt in yellows and oranges-a veritable leafy volcano. Looking down from the apex of the Bruin Bluff Trail, the color flows like lava in either direction along the shores of Bear Creek. It's quite a sight. Of course, the Lair O' The Bear Shines during the rest of the year as well, given the abundant flora and fauna thriving along Bear Creek, the park's centerpiece. This loop allows a visitor to experience it all, from the sparkle of the water rushing under footbridges to the lofty exposure of the rocky bluff, from open meadows of alive with wildflowers to shady stands of pine, fir, and aspen. Enjoy.
