Booth Lake
Meadows of summer wildflowers will delight you and the groves of graceful aspen will beckon you back in the fall. This hike will tax your endurance but the rewards are great! The route begins in graceful aspen groves (beckoning you back in the fall) framed by steep, red sandstone walls. There are several waterfalls, including impressive Booth Falls at mile 2.1. There are also meadows of colorful wildflowers and a spring at mile 3.2, en route to lovely Booth Lake, residing in a steep bowl at the upper end of the valley. It is all capped off with the dark, serrated ridges of the Gore Range, seemingly made for endless ridge scrambling pleasure.
