Beaver Boardwalk
Estes Park, CO

Beaver Boardwalk
The Beaver Boardwalk is the perfect introduction to the riparian habitat that occupies many of the river basins in Rocky Mountain National Park. The short walk encircles a small portion of the beaver-made ponds on Hidden Valley Creek. As the sign says, you're about to enter "The World of the Beaver." The boardwalk offers the perfect opportunity for adults and children alike to learn about the creation, maintenance and fragility of natural wetlands. A plethora of marsh grasses and wildflowers grow around the ponds, and ducks play in the water. If you are lucky, you may even see one of the architects of the ecosystem-the beaver. The trail is handicapped-accessible. Respect the integrity of the area by remaining on the trail, and by honoring the restriction on fishing.
