Arthurs Rock
Only minutes from Fort Collins, this peaceful State Park offers a variety of activities ideal for a family outing. Just minutes from the bustle of Fort Collins, peaceful Lory State Park is named after Charles A. Lory, who was the President of Colorado State University from 1909 until 1940. The park lies along the western shore of scenic Horsetooth Reservoir and offers 30 miles of hiking trails, picnic facilities, some horseback trails and even some backcountry camp sites. Park history identifies a local settler, named Arthur, who frequently climbed in this area. This could make a special family outing with the wide variety of available activities.
