Allens Park Trail to Calypso Cascades
Calypso Cascades is a popular destination in Rocky Mountain National Park, but by starting at the Allens Park Trailhead, the hike to the cascades is free from the bustle of crowds until you reach the destination. The trail offers interesting scenery opened by a 1978 forest fire. These views appear beyond the first junction along the Allens Park Trail. To take the best route to Calypso Cascades go left at this junction. The views are lovely, but the openness makes this a rather warm and steep hike unless you begin early in the day, when morning light is most lovely on the incredible views to the northwest. Highlights: Forest fire of 1978, interesting trail building, views of Longs Peak, Calypso Cascades.
