The Santa Clarita Valley sits just north of the San Fernando Valley and has a climate noticeably more arid than much of the rest of Los Angeles. The community of Valencia planned a number of bike paths in the construction of the city. More than 17 miles of paths crisscross the area, and new sections are being added all the time. Road surface: Very good. Road traffic: None. Exposure: Extreme. Scenery: Desert, dry riverbed, and ever-increasing commercial development.
