Pyramid Hot Spring
An obscure hot spring in the Kern River Canyon near Lake Isabella. Pyramid Hot Spring emerges from the ground immediately under the cube-shaped rock. Depending upon the level of the river, the hot spring may not be discernible. The best time to visit Pyramid is in the summer, when river levels are lower. During spring runoff, the hot spring will be completely submerged and the river may be impossible to cross. If water levels are just right, however, this spring is a welcome surprise along the Kern River. Temperatures average 105 degrees F., depending upon the amount of river water mixed with the spring water.
