Wheeler Gorge Nature Trail
This interpretive trail travels along a lovely creek, exploring riparian and chaparral ecosystems, while offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. The Wheeler Gorge Nature Trail starts 0.5 mile north of the entrance to the campgrounds that share the same name. The campgrounds are incredibly popular and require a twonight stay on weekends, and a three-night stay on holiday weekends, so plan ahead if an overnight is in the itinerary. The trail actually sits adjacent to the northern edge of the camp and can be reached from the roadway that runs next to the sites.
