Dillon Creek Campground
All rangers tell you Dillon Creek Campground is a good campground. “Ah, Dillon,” the rangers say, and smile. “The river down there is nice.” Rangers love Dillon because it is a model campground. The campground host’s trailer sits right at the entrance to where the Dillon campsites file back along the hill. Asteep trail leads down to Dillon Creek, where there is one great swimming hole near the campground as well as dozens of more secluded ones upstream. Although Dillon Creek can flow ferociously in the spring flood, the current does not present the danger of the mighty Klamath that flows right across Highway 89 from Dillon, where everybody goes for salmon and the famous steelhead.
