Cave Creek Trail
With 31 miles of backcountry trails, the Cave Creek Trail System offers a variety of hiking terrain. Located in the Tonto National Forest just north of Carefree, this network of hiking routes encounters pristine desert and riparian communities within a short distance of downtown Phoenix. A nice day hike here follows Cave Creek west from the vicinity of the Seven Springs picnic grounds for a few miles before returning via the desert foothills to the south.
