Each season, a handful of clients have to cancel their trips at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances such as flight delays or cancellations, illness or injury. For this reason, REI Adventures highly recommends the purchase of travel insurance—our choice is Travelex.

On many of our trips, the nearest medical facility is miles away. If you become ill or injured and have to be evacuated or transported from a remote region to a medical facility, the cost will be covered. You'll have the peace of mind that your investment is insured and that traveler assistance will be available at your destination, should you need it.

We highly recommend purchasing the supplemental coverage provided by Travelex for trips taken with REI Adventures. The policy has many other benefits, so please review the plan information carefully.

Please note that if you would like to take advantage of the Travelex pre-existing condition waiver, it is valid only if your protection plan is purchased within a certain number of days from the date your initial reservation is processed, however certain restrictions apply.

Tourist Visas & Passports

Many countries in which REI Adventures runs trips require visitor visas for entry. We recommend using Zierer Visa Service (ZVS), the leading online resource for visa and passport needs.
