Each season, a handful of clients have to cancel their trips at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances such as flight delays or cancellations, illness or injury. For this reason, REI Adventures highly recommends the purchase of travel insurance—our choice is Travelex.
On many of our trips, the nearest medical facility is miles away. If you become ill or injured and have to be evacuated or transported from a remote region to a medical facility, the cost will be covered. You'll have the peace of mind that your investment is insured and that traveler assistance will be available at your destination, should you need it.
We highly recommend purchasing the Travel Plus supplemental coverage provided by Travelex for trips taken with REI Adventures. The policy has many other benefits, so please review the plan information carefully.
Please note that if you would like to take advantage of the Travelex pre-existing condition waiver, it is valid only if your protection plan is purchased within 21 days of the date your initial trip deposit is processed.

Wherever your travels take you, Zierer Visa Service is a leading online resource for visa and passport needs. Recognized for their expeditious handling of travel documentation, they solve visa and passport issues so you can travel with confidence.
Included in your pre-departure packet will be additional information on the entry requirements for your trip. Many countries do not require tourist visas for limited stays by U.S. passport holders. Some countries also offer the option of obtaining a visa upon arrival.
For countries that require visas, or if you prefer the ease and convenience of obtaining your visa in advance, please see the ZVS/REI Adventures Visa Page for specific requirements and to download the necessary forms.
The requirements stated on the Zierer website pertain to U.S. passport holders only. If you hold a non-U.S. passport, please call for details. Foreign entry requirements are subject to change at any time without advance notice.
