Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable I bought this in Japan after researching a variety of jackets and trying on several at a local sporting goods store. Such a warm, comfortable jacket, and it feels tough. A great jacket for skiing and for winter camping (my intended purpose) My only reservation about buying it was that one reviewer mentioned the hood was uninsulated (it is) and came down over your eyes unless you cinch it up tight (it does). My guess is the reviewer didn't check the top of the hood: there is a bit of velcro there that works to hold back the front of the hood several centimeters, keeping it out of your eyes no problem. I appreciate the numerous pockets, especially the one in the left sleeve near the cuff.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Warm Jacket ( almost ) Went to REI looking for a jacket after trying out a couple jackets and with the help of one experts there I chose the Columbia In Bounds 650 because of the price point. Compared to the other jackets it seem to offer more for the money 1st the Columbia is a Turbo Down insulated jacket wares as the Marmot and The North Face at about the same price point were not. I was looking for something waterproof and warm sine this would be my everyday jacket for work and walking my dogs in the city. The fit is great but the only down fall of this jacket is the Hood of the jacket which is connected to the jacket as a one piece with no zipper. It is thin you think Columbia would of also put there Turbo Down insulation in the hood to be competitive. No so you need to pull the hood so tight that you look like a 3rd grader at school. Even with a winter hat you still feel the cold hitting the back of your neck. If I were to rate this jacket it would only get 3 stars out of 5. So close Columbia but yet so far. Hopefully moving forward they address this problem and then it would be a great jacket.
