Read More 1. It keeps me from sitting in the office for too long (alerts me if idling for more than an hour). 2. Good in monitoring sleep patterns. 3. Pair with the heard rate monitor seamlessly. It gives me data so that I can know how hard I need for my workout to hit the target heart rate range. 4. Silent alarm (vibration) is very strong to wake me up, but without interrupting my girlfriend's sleep. 5. Software needs work, but I don't use most of the functions (except the ones mentioned above) anyway. 6. Waterproof; small and discreet. I wear it all the time (including shower and swimming) except when charging. 7. Long battery life. I turned off notifications from my phone, and one charge can last close to 2 weeks. -

Read More Buying a vivosmart was one of the smartest things I've done. I did my research and selected the vivosmart over the step trackers. It's not only want I wanted, but what I expected. Virtually paired itself with my 5c and auto paired with the HR monitor. When I walk out of range from my phone it self-pairs when I return. One can use the pre-programmed step length in the tracker or personalize it. It's subtle as a wristband and I can subtly check my vivosmart for incoming messages rather than pulling out my phone. While some comparative reviews say the Fitbit app is more user-friendly, I've experienced no issues with Garmin's app. Really kinda cool to see when my sleep cycles the next morning. Great to keep me from getting to sedentary as it vibrates when I need to just walk around a bit. I've found only one shortcoming with the vivosmart: that would be that when it's paired with the HR monitor, I would like it to vibrate when changing HR zones (2 buzzes when entering HR zone 2, etc), but that feature is on the watch model which is more step tracker than I wanted around my wrist; maybe this feature will come in a future software upgrade. Regardless, have been extremely pleased with my vivosmart and highly recommend it. -

Read More I have now had this for about 3 months, for half It was used with a Galaxy Note 2, which was fine until the Christmas masses opened theirs and all tried to sync them. It took a week for Garmin to fix the issue. Switched to my Iphone 5s and have had no issues since. (this is a company website issue, not the product) The product is perfect on its own though. Heart monitor syncs immediately, after initial setup it helps you track what zone you are in. Great for my running, cycling or p90x. It fits the wrist well, very comfortable. I love the feature of displaying who is calling, or letting me read texts on my wrist. Email is just the sender and subject line. Note: One issue many in the DC area have found out is that if you work in a facility that restricted, say like you can't take a phone in, this is a no go as well. To sum up, I love this thing, and would buy it again in a second! -

Read More I bought this in the bundle with the heart monitor and never even got as far as using the strap. it was nearly impossible to pair with my phone (i5s), which has no issues otherwise, it dropped the signal regularly and took a great deal of time to reconnect every time until finally it just wouldn't. while connected it would not, as it says, pair with MyFitnessPal. aside from connection issues, the algorithm used to calculate steps, distance and calories burned is seriously flawed; in my 800 square foot house, I managed to burn over 500 calories, walk almost a mile in 1,500 steps - all in the first 1/2 hour I was awake and all in the few 12 foot trips between my living room and kitchen. I DO NO recommend spending the money on this. I have had plenty of success just using MyFitnessPal on it's own along with some other calorie burn calculators for verification. also note: there are no user instructions or manuals included in package
Read More I bought this because my old heart rate monitor had died (and I need a HRM), and because I wanted to try using a fitness tracker. Overall, I really enjoy it. It does everything my old HRM did, and also tracks my sleep (I used to use an app on my phone and this is more convenient) and vibrates when I have notifications on my phone (I absolutely love that feature). Only problem is the technology is still a little shaky. Sometimes the Bluetooth connection goes down and the only way to get it back up is to put the device on the charger. There has been a glitch for a while where I can't set the alarm in the app and have to do it on the website. One time it just stopped vibrating completely for three days and then inexplicably started again. But I know this is fairly new technology, and I am willing to cut Garmin some slack, given all the great features.
