Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lowa Mountain Expert GTX EVO I had a chance to break my new boots in over the weekend on an 8 mile hike. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort these stiff boots have - they were big and heavy, but my feet were quite comfortable! And WARM! I used them with step in crampons and had no problems at all. I had gone to the REI store to try on a pair of Lowas just to see how the Lowa fit - they are true to size, I wear a 6 and bought a 6. The stores in Southern Cal didn't have these in stock, so I got them online at REI.com and they were shipped free to my house in just a couple of days!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-purpose mountaineering boots I've had these boots for 1 year now, used them on 10+ weekend trips. These boots are great for wider feet (I've found some La Sportiva boots to be a bit narrow). It's waterproof, warm, and very sturdy. Not only do they perform well on glacier approaches but they also are great for ice climbing. These aren't the lightest on the market but they are excellent all-around boots.
