Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Light Weight Jacket This is a great jacket for spring and summer weather. When our temperatures are 50 degrees and above this is my go to jacket. The hood covers my head and keeps my glasses dry in the rain; when the weather is dry, the hood folds into the collar. There are four deep outside pocket and three inside, one inside pocket zips closed, lots of room for a cell phone, cash, or snacks when hiking. I wore this in several rain showers and I have not had this jacket lose its waterproofing. A zipper opening on the bottom would help, but I often just snap the jacket shut when driving and leave it unzipped. This jacket looks good hiking in the national forrest or for a rain jacket in Seattle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy! Pros: light weight, great full hood that can be concealed when not needed, Velcro wrist adjustments, snap closures in conjunction with zipper. Lots of accessible pockets on the outside. Con's: not packable, could use ventilation zippers under arms and/or back vents

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good jacket and a reasonable price I've had this jacket for a few weeks now and really like the fit and protection it provides. The pockets are well placed and the fold-over flaps makes for easy access. The one detractor for me is that the zipper doesn't open from the bottom. With the length of the jacket, whenever I sit, I need to hike the bottom up. Which I wouldn't need to do if the zipper allowed me to open it up a bit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All the water repellence of a sponge Wets out in 10-15 minutes. Soaked and soggy shortly thereafter. First REI purchase I've ever been disappointed with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Short sleeves :( Nice jacket with good, basic features but the sleeves were way too short for me. At least 3" short of the wrist. I don't have this problem with other brands but Columbia is a no-go if you have a larger wingspan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Northern California Winter My Columbia Men's Downpour Rain Jacket arrived just in time. We've been getting lots of (much welcomed) wind-driven hard rains here in Northern California. So my new jacket got put through the tests. It is dry, comfortable and lightweight. Just perfect for wearing even when the rain stops. I use it day to day right now. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Normally wear an XL. Wife got me to buy a large. Excellent fit even over light sweater or sweat shirt. I love this jacket. Roomy pockets that have zip closure. The hood hides away in collar. I have bought to many coats this year. Wish I had bought this one first.

Why does the product price is labeled as $49.83 but none of the products in the cart applied for $49.83? The price for this item is only $100. Planning to by 2, one black xxl and one blue xl.

Is there a "women's" equivalent waterproof jacket? My husband ordered this, and I like that the fabric is "heavier" than the normal nylon rain jacket. I have looked over on the women's side, and do not see any that are labelled "double rip stop nylon"

Asked by: labbydog
As of May 2017, there is no women's version of this jacket.
