Read More I bought this last year and used it now for a year. Basically, the V800 had many profiles that I have used. I have used it running, on the treadmill, swimming, and once on the bicycle. I am happy with many of the metrics that it provides which enables me to pay attention to how well I am doing my sessions. I currently have it paired with the H7 heart sensor and the stride sensor. I really like the training load feature that enables me to tailor my weekly sessions to not over train. Still in the year, there are some problems. The big problem is the charging and interface cord in time becomes a problem. The spring hinge on the clip is a bad idea because the two contacts close to the hinge have the worst contact. A change would be to make a clamp straight on the back and front of the watch or have springs for each individual contact. Yes, I do keep the whole watch clean especially the contacts even on the charging clip. But, until this change happens I have to hold the clamp tight on the watch to sync to the computer. This problem makes the data transfer seem too long with some data transfer I think is unnecessary like exercise profiles even though I do not change them. Other than the charging clip, the watch with many metrics and exercise profiles can give even an active if not professional sports person work out information. One does need to know that calories and energy are always estimated, but with this product these products are consistent and provide trends as plotted on Polar Flow. Even after a year, I still have fun with the watch and the sensors. In short, this watch may be too much unless you are like me-- an active person who likes gadgets. It may be a little expensive.

Read More I have had my watch for a little over a year now. I wanted to make sure I had it for awhile instead of making a quick decision. This watch does absolutely everything and if you pick the settings right will even tell you when you need to get off your butt and get going. Its great!! The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is one - the wrist strap with get you if you wear it too much. I have seen other people have had issues there are times after wearing it for a long time it will leave a rash. Nothing too serious and the second thing I get so mad about is that if I forget to bring my chest sensor the reading is so drastically off. I wish it didn't rely that much on the chest sensor. It honestly is barely worth working out without it if you are going for tracking. Otherwise besides those two things I love it and it is compatible with so many things. I bought the speed and cadence counter so I can ride my bike on my trainer and have had no issues. I'm about to get the scale and hoping that it is worth the hype. Definitely recommend this to any triathlete (or person) who needs a watch that will keep them accountable.

Read More Polar doesn't support the infrared data transfer device under Windows 10, and since I had to update to Windows 10, I had to update my device. The V800 is ok. Nice display, collects all the data one would expect. The new online Polar Flow Sync software isn't nearly as utilitarian as the ProTrainer5 software I was using. ProTrainer5 put the raw data right up front in clear lists. Flow Sync buries the raw data beneath displays and analysis. Frankly, I don't want a robo-coach. Even less do I need yet another social media forum. I just want the raw data presented as simply and clearly as possible. One very real drawback of the V800 is that the GPS is severely flawed in 3-D measuring of distance. I've used it in parallel with the hand-held Garmin GPS I use for mountaineering (which I've verified against vertical routes of known distance), and the V800 severely under reports the distance traveled when I'm on a trail with extreme ups and downs. The RS800CX had a GPS device on an armband, which really wasn't so inconvenient that I needed everything in a wrist mounted device, and which I think had better 3-D resolution. So that I am checking that I would recommend this product to a friend, I would really only recommend that they should consider this product.
