Dec 6, 2015Love them still since 2013I have been using these kayaking for the past couple of years and was surprised to see some lack luster reviews. I don't loose signal, they stay in my ear comfortably and the sound is great.

Read More Pros: Sound quality, battery life, near secure fit, ear comfort Cons: Occasionally loses sound depending on the location of your phone. Can slip out of your ear with excessive water I bought these so that I could listen to music as I ran without having a wire dangling around my body to my phone. I also wanted something that wouldn't slip out of my ear. I was contemplating between these and the Jaybird Bluebuds X, but couldn't justify the higher price. The Freedom Sprint is not cheap either, but with a 4 hour battery life, it was more than enough to last me for a half marathon or several weeks of weekday runs. It does come with various earbud and wing sizes to better fit your ear, however, I could see it may not be enough for some. My only dislike I have is that the sound will cut out occasionally when I place my phone behind me. I usually just wear it in a pouch in front of me to get rid of the issue, but during my half marathons, I carry it in my water belt which I like to wear behind me. It wasn't a constant drop, but I did notice it would cut out here and there, which made it a little annoying. I guess the Bluebuds are supposed to fix this issue. Second, I normally don't have an issue with keeping it in my ear, but while I was running through some fog and mist, my ears collected a lot of water and caused the left earbud to slip out a lot, so I can see if you're a heavy sweater and your sweat pools in your ear, it might be an issue. Overall, I would still recommend these to a friend as they've been great for my runs. If you need to carry your phone behind you, consider the Bluebuds instead. -

Read More Pros: Good sound, comfortable *in the ear*, easy to use, good battery life, good assortment of included accessories. Cons: Does not stay in ear (details in review), uncomfortable *on the neck*. These were all set to be awesome. I gave them a fair try of about 6 workouts with different size earbuds and even the hooks. Nothing that came with it could solve my problem, and I think it's just me, so these may work for you. Here is my issue: When I work out, I sweat. I also move a lot. Crazy talk, I know! So what happens is, the wire connecting the two earbuds uses your standard plastic sheathing. As soon as I break a sweat, it sticks to the back of my neck, and when I turn my head, yoink! Out pops the earbud on that side. When I tried the earhook thing to try and maybe stabilize it, it was downright painful. The plastic cord gets very sticky, and adheres to the back of my neck with the tenacity of a thousand barnacles, not to be dissuaded by any amount of talc, chalk, or pulling my t-shirt forward to try and get it to rest on that instead of my skin. It's like it was magnetically drawn to my neckskin and once there it dug in its heels. :/ Today I hope to exchange them for some yurbuds bluetooth headphones, which use a cloth-wrapped cord. I have a wired pair of yurbuds and I love them, so, we'll see how it goes. REI is typically pretty awesome about this sort of thing, so I'm hopeful. Summary: I wouldn't not recommend these to a friend, but I would caution them about the wire between the buds due to its plastic sheathing, and recommend the yurbuds more strongly on the strength of my experience with both yurbuds and cloth-wrapped cords with electronics.
Read More Right out of the box today it was partially charged so I turned it on and linked it with my Moto X. The sound was not impressive. The mic doesn't work as well as I liked, there seems to be a lot of static and cut out. Put the phone in my shorts and the music would cut in and out. I attributited this to the set being partially charged. I came home and charged it fully and tried different test again. Not Impressed. Will try it on the bike trail this week and update my review.
